The Santa Sleigh Run is back, and The Stonehenge Chamber is delighted to bring a little Christmas magic to local communities once again. Keep an eye on social media for updates.

Santa is coming to local streets this Christmas

The Santa Sleigh Run is all about bringing people together. For many families, seeing the sleigh pass by is one of the first real signs that Christmas is close. It is a chance to wrap up warm, step outside for a few minutes, wave to Santa, and share a cheerful moment with neighbours.

The Chamber’s volunteers work hard behind the scenes before each run. They help plan routes, check timings, support safety on the night, and keep the sleigh moving so as many streets as possible can enjoy the visit.

Where the sleigh will be going and when

The sleigh will be travelling through local communities on the announced run dates, following the route shared by The Stonehenge Chamber.

The sleigh runs depend on traffic, weather, road access, so timings can vary slightly on the night. The best way to enjoy it is to treat the published time as a guide, listen out for the music and watch for the lights as Santa gets close. There is also a live Santa Tracker in place that you can access on the day.

How to enjoy Santa’s visit safely

The sleigh run is designed to

be fun, friendly, and safe. A few simple steps can help everyone enjoy the evening.

Please stay on the pavement and keep children close when the sleigh approaches. The lights and music can be exciting, especially for younger children, so it helps to remind them not to run towards the road.

If the sleigh stops near you, wait for the volunteers to guide the moment. They may need to manage space, traffic, or movement around the vehicle.

The route will be shared through the usual local community channels and social media, so residents can see:

  • Which communities the sleigh will visit

  • The planned evening for each area

  • The streets and stopping points where available

  • Any last-minute route changes

  • Safety guidance for families waiting outside

If the sleigh cannot safely enter a road or stop in a particular place, the team may need to adjust the route. Santa will still do his best to spread Christmas cheer wherever the sleigh can safely travel.

The run is free, but donations are warmly welcomed

The Santa Sleigh Run is provided free of charge to the community. Families do not need to pay to see Santa, and there is no ticket or booking system.

That said, putting on the run does come with real costs. Fuel, equipment, maintenance, lights, safety items, insurance, and general running expenses all add up.

That is why cash and card donations are very welcome on the night.

Every contribution, large or small, helps The Stonehenge Chamber cover the cost of the run and keep this much-loved tradition going.

If the sleigh has collectors walking with it, they will be able to accept donations safely.

Card donation options will also be available where possible.

The Santa Sleigh Run is free to enjoy. Donations simply help cover the cost of bringing Santa back to local communities year after year.

A few helpful tips for the evening:

  • Wear something warm and easy to see

  • Bring a torch if your street is dark

  • Keep pets secure, especially if they are nervous around music or lights

  • Let neighbours know Santa is on the way

  • Have cash ready if you would like to donate

Please avoid parking in narrow places where the sleigh may need to pass. Clear access helps the team stay on schedule and reach more families.

A festive tradition powered by local support

Events like this only happen because people choose to help. The Stonehenge Chamber’s Santa Sleigh Run depends on volunteers, community goodwill, careful planning, and the generosity of residents who donate when they can.

For some, the sleigh is a quick wave from the doorstep. For others, it becomes a family memory that children talk about for days. That is what makes the run so special. It brings Christmas to the streets, close enough for everyone to share.

So when the sleigh comes to your community, step outside, give Santa a wave, and enjoy the lights.
