The Stonehenge Chamber of Trade Events Team spent six evenings, during a wet and windy December, visiting the local area with Santa and his sleigh. Areas covered included Amesbury, Bulford, Durrington, Larkhill, Longhedge and Shrewton.
Over 80 miles were covered - with several stops made each evening to allow for photos with Santa and his reindeer.
There was an amazing turnout each evening and a huge thank you to those that braved the weather, especially on Wednesday 18th December. An ad-hoc stop was made at Buckland Court Amesbury - where the residents were ‘treated’ to Christmas Carols, lead by Santa.
A total of £635.00 was collected, that will be distributed to various local good causes. A thank you to Tyrone Mundy, who again donned the big red suit for the many cold evenings in Amesbury, Bulford, Larkhill, Longhedge and Shrewton.
On Sunday 22nd December, the Chamber worked with the Durrington events team - who with the help of Mick Fellows in the 'red suit', toured Durrington - including stops at the Plough Inn for their meet & greet, The Stonehenge Inn, as well as the usual stops throughout the village.
The Sleigh also delivered Santa, Jeff Coy of Amesbury Filling Station, to Amesbury Archer and Christ The King primary schools - to enable him to carry out his duties in the respective Grottos.
The Chamber would like to thank The Royal Artillery Museum for the continued use of the trailer, Chris from Chris Little Events, all 'on the day' helpers and of course the Chamber Events Team members - all of whom made this event possible.
