Santa Fills Food Banks In Amesbury & Durrington

On Monday 15th April members of The Stonehenge Chamber of Trade attended Home Bargains Amesbury and filled 8 trolleys, which was made possible from the Sleigh Collection in December, as well as a substantial donation from MT Fencing, and a voucher from Home Bargains itself.

The shopping consisted of a variety or personal hygiene items and long dated food.  After a 2 hour shopping spree, the goods were shared between Durrington’s Food Bank (part of the Trussell Trust based in the All Saint’s School Hall) and Amesbury’s Food Pantry at the Baptist Church.  Durrington’s Father Christmas of 2023 Graham Wright was on hand in Durrington, together with Caron Hitchen, to accept the donations. Barry Davis (Amesbury Baptist Church Pastor) was overwhelmed with the bags received for Amesbury.

Many thanks to our committed members Vicky & Jemma (Quilter Financial), Matt (MT Fencing), Kyle & Gemma (A Date with Thyme), H & Leanne (H's Ices), Damian (Sims Hospitality), Andy (Amesbury Printing), Lousie (Amesbury Filling Station) for making it all possible.

The Chamber would like to thank all those that made a donation to Father Christmas as he travelled around the area - and to Home Bargains for being so patient during the shop and checkout!
